Think Local:
NSW Treasurer, Eric Roozendaal's budget offers local firms a 20 per cent premium in bidding for tenders compared to foreign bidders. The policy is expected to apply to about $4 billion worth of goods and services supplied to the Government.
Think Green:
NSW is the first state to begin working towards sustainable green print through the efforts of the Printing Industries Association of Australia and are targeting the following issues based on the ISO4001 framework - other states will follow:
- Environmental laws companies need to comply with;
- Environmental risks associated with the printing industry;
- Control measures needed to prevent non-compliance with pollution and other laws;
- How to document actions, undertake internal audits and manage a businesses' environmental system
Every year an increasingly larger amout of paper used in Australia is from managed forests (not old growth timber), from mills with ISO4001 accreditation... can we be sure Imported Print will?
