How we collect your information and what
sort of information we collect.
We will only collect information relevant to
our business relationship with you. There is some information, which
is necessary for us to collect to be able to provide you with a specific product
and or service. In some cases if you do not provide this information we may not be able
to provide you with the product or service you have requested.
What we collect will depend upon the products or service you have
requested, some examples of the type of information we collect are your name, address,
contact details, ABN number, if applicable and information about your use of products
and services that we at Fitzgeralds are able to provide.
If it is reasonable and practicable to do so, we
collect most of this information directly from you, in person. How we collect
your information will depend upon how you interact with us. We may collect it through
application forms, telephone and internet contact and in person through
your visits to our offices, or our visits to your offices.
There are some occasions where we
may need to collect sensitive information from other parties, but only with your
direct involvement, and permission to do so, for example credit applications.
The collection of sensitive information is restricted by the provisions of the Privacy Act.
Other information relevant to maintaining a mutually
beneficial relationship may be collected from any, or all of the following:-

- Business Advisory/Referral groups or associations (Business Enterprise Centres)

Information relating to your
religious views, ethnicity, political opinion, criminal record, health,
personal information or sexual preference will not be collected.
We collect statistical information on website activity, such
as the number of users who visit, the date and time of visits.
From time to time we may ask for questionaires to be
completed, but these will be strictly optional. These may include customer
satisfaction surveys, either on the web, via telephone or in person.
How we use your information.
When we collect this information from you, we
will inform you of the purposes for which it is collected. Primarily, this will be to
provide you with the product or service you have requested and the administration
of that product or service.
We may also use your information to:-

Disclosing your information

that perform specific essential services for us, for example subcontractors. When doing so
we limit this disclosure to the information they might need to perform the service being

Importantly, we bind these companies through contractual

We may be required to report to, or pass on your
information to regulatory bodies, government agencies and law enforcement bodies.
We may need to pass on information to our insurance
company. If this were to be the case then your consent would be sought prior to this

Marketing our products to you.
We may use your information to offer you products and
services that we believe meet your needs, but only if you have elected the opt-in otion to receive such information. However, you can notify us at any
time if you do not wish to continue to receive these offers. We will act promptly on your request

Quality of Information.
We maintain your information by taking every possible
step in making sure that the information collected is accurate, complete
and up-to-date.
So that we can maintain the accuracy of your information
at all times, we ask that you notify us when you change your contact details
such as telephone number, address, email etc..
How do we protect you information?
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. We use 256-bit encryption, which provides the highest level of security available. Additionally our SSL certificate comes from the industry leading supplier Geotrust.
We also take reasonable steps and up-to-date
techniques and processes to protect your information from misuse, loss
and unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.
Only employees of Fitzgeralds and those
who perform services on our behalf are authorised to handle or have
access to your information.
All Fitzgeralds employees are bound by confidentiality
contracts.
Those who perform services on our behalf are also bound by privacy and confidentiality agreements.
We take reasonable steps to destroy information in a secure manner or remove identifying features from it, if it is no longer required by us. This is subject to any legal obligations we have to retain information for a certain period of time.

We aim to resolve complaints when we are first
contacted. If we cannot resolve it immediately, we take the following steps:
1. Let you know who is handling your complaint;
2. Keep you informed of what is happening;
3. Aim to resolve your complaint within five working days; and
4. Check that you are satisfied with the results and how the complaint was handled.
